Chesapeake Conservancy is a non-profit organization based in Annapolis, Maryland that believes the Chesapeake Bay is a national treasure that should be healthy and accessible for everyone. They work with the National Park Service and others to create parks, trails, and public access sites to enhance outdoor recreation and appreciation.
The Conservancy is also a pioneer in the precision conservation and results-oriented conservation movement, using new technology and partnerships to accurately assess the location of pollution and increase the efficiency and effectiveness of conservation and restoration efforts.
Capturing the Spirit of the Bay
Given the volume and variety of the Conservancy’s sustainability work, the first step in our project was accurately laying out and remapping the content on the pages for their many initiatives. With an accurate view of content in hand, we went to work infusing the spirit of the Bay (creatures and conservationists alike) throughout their digital presence.

LGND has an incredibly talented and creative staff that works quickly to leverage an opportunity to benefit the client’s mission. In our case, we had two short months before we publicly launched one of the largest high resolution land cover data sets ever produced and needed a revised digital presence to reflect our priorities and capabilities. They did a masterful job and continue to be partners and advocates for us.
