Iridium is a global satellite communications company, providing access to voice and data services anywhere on Earth. With its constellation of satellites, Iridium’s network connects people and devices in the world’s most remote places — and close to home.
Iridium approached LGND to help celebrate its 20th anniversary, showcasing its inspiring journey and storied company history, from Motorola’s initial race to launch the world’s first space-based communications network, to becoming the industry leader the company is today.
LGND designed and developed the Iridium Museum website, an immersive and interactive digital experience to highlight the difficult challenges and innovative achievements Iridium had along the way. The site is a futuristic digital museum that unites the past with the present and puts Iridium’s exciting journey on full display.
We included a smoothly-animated starlit homepage, animated and live-action video, and a scrolling timeline with filters and imagery to tell the story. Each exhibit section includes interactive elements, like a walk-through of Iridium’s mission badges or a step-by-step introduction to the satellite swap process.
With cutting-edge UX/UI, interactive technology, and animated and live-action video, LGND created a digital experience that was literally out of this world.
The museum made a splash with Iridium’s employees past and present, and its investors.
Following the digital museum’s launch, Iridium asked LGND to redesign its flagship website leveraging the aesthetic of the museum experience with a focus on evolving the brand for use across Iridium’s digital constellation.
